ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

Each play is based on 4 traditional myths and legends that students will be able to compare and contrast; helping to meet the CCSS: RL.4.9. Compare and contrast the treatment of similar themes and topics (e.g., opposition of good and evil) and patterns of events (e.g., the quest) in stories, myths, and traditional literature from different cultures.

WHAT MAKES THIS RESOURCE UNIQUE?

Each play is written on 3 separate reading levels so it is easy to match each student with a part that meets their individual need! Each script contains 3-5 parts, making it a perfect activity for centers or leveled guided reading groups! Modified versions provide support in basic fluency skills, regular versions focus on expression development, and enriched versions challenge students with tier 2 vocabulary and figurative language components. This set helps meet the Language Arts common core standards in the areas of legends and traditional literature, fluency & expression while integrating meaningful social studies connections!
