Description
This is a reading challenge is designed to last one week. It includes everything needed for the program; parent letter explaining what to do, templates for flower displays, reading tickets for students to turn in, and a teacher instruction page.
Students each have their our flower with their name in the center. At night students read and then turn in tickets the next day. Each reading ticket represents 15 minutes of reading. Students are able to turn in more than one ticket each day. For example, if they read 30 minutes the night before they would bring in 2 reading tickets and receive 2 petals to add to their flower. Students can set goals to challenge themselves throughout the week. Each petal will represent 15 minutes of reading.
I use this in my classroom during Right to Read week! The students LOVE to add petals to their flower each day and see them on display. It gets them excited about reading and motivated during this fun reading week! Hope your students and you enjoy this as much as I do! Happy reading!! :)
