What educators are saying

I loved using these letters to conference with my students during our Kate DiCamillo author study. I will use them often in the future!
I used this resource with my 40 Books Challenge this year. Students wrote a weekly response in their journals on whatever they were currently reading that week. This was perfect for that purpose. I will definitely be using this for years to come.

Description

This document is three pages that outlines the procedures for your students to write reader's response letters to you based on the book they are currently reading. This assignment is incredibly flexible, which makes it easy for students to use no matter what book they are reading.

The document includes directions, an example letter based on a Jerry Spinelli book, and a rubric that shows how the assignment will be graded (out of 20 points).

I designed the pages so they could either be hole punched and placed in a binder or cut out on the dotted lines and glued into a composition or regular notebook.
