What educators are saying

This was a great resource for my students. They loved the comic theme throughout and made great connections with the material.
We love using this resource during our social skills group! It really helps them to reflect and dial in on what skills they're lacking.

Description

This social skills group was created to use in small group counseling with upper elementary students. It focuses on positive communication and understanding others. These social skills activities can be used with students on the autism spectrum, students with ADHD, gifted students, or students with no specific difference at all who just struggle with social interactions. This resource also serves as a wonderful tier 2 intervention within MTSS-B.

Each session includes an engaging comic book or graphic novel style page introducing the topic, a strategies sheet, sorting cards or a worksheet, and discussion/task/practice cards to use with a cooperative learning activity. Suggestions are provided for including more movement as needed.

This ASCA-aligned resource is a complete 13-week group counseling curriculum. It is a ready-to-go group but it is also flexible. You can easily pick and choose which sessions to do, re-order them, and/or incorporate books to lengthen the group further. Sessions 2-12 could also easily be used for class lessons.
