What educators are saying

My students loved the solar eclipse craft/foldable. I really enjoyed the flexibility in the choice of template. This allowed me to choose the right one for them.
This resource was amazing and just what I needed. The students were really engages! Glad to have purchased it!

    Description

Explore all things 'space' with these fun, cut-and-paste foldable activities. This bundle contains templates to introduce or review the phases of the moon (in the northern hemisphere), the order of the planets in our solar system, and the stages of a solar eclipse.

Benefits of these science sequencing activities:

    • Hands-on alternative to a science worksheet
    • Students practice following directions and sequencing
    • The finished foldouts can be glued into an interactive notebook to be referenced by students
    • Use as an introduction, review, or assessment
    • Differentiated options allow for use with students of different ages of abilities

The templates (differentiated for you to choose the best options for your students)

Phases of the moon foldouts (4 templates)

Template 1: Color the phases of the moon, cut, glue, and fold.

Template 2 (print in color): Identify the phases of the moon, write them on the template, glue, cut, and fold.

Template 3: Color the phases of the moon, sequence them on the template, glue, cut and fold. There are 2 label options for this template - one has the letter 'b' on the phases of the moon to show students which part to color black.

Template 4: Color the phases of the moon, cut and sequence them, write the names of each stage, glue, cut and fold. The phases of the moon include the letter 'b' to show which part to color black.

    Solar system foldouts (3 templates)

Template 1: Students color the template with the planets in order (from nearest to the sun to furthest away). They also color the 2 halves of the space scene. They then cut out the template and space scene, glue the space scene to the top and bottom of the template, then fold.

Template 2: The second option is the same, but students will cut out and order the planets before gluing and folding.

Template 3: For the third option, students match simple facts to each of the planets before cutting and folding the template.

    Solar eclipse foldouts (4 templates)

Template 1: Color the sun and stages of an annular solar eclipse, match the pictures to the stage names, glue, cut out the template and fold. Letters indicate which is the Sun/Moon.

Template 2: Color the sun and stages of an annular solar eclipse, arrange the stages in order, glue, cut out the template and fold.

Template 3: Color the sun and stages of a total solar eclipse, match the pictures to the stage names, glue, cut out the template and fold. Letters indicate which is the Sun/Moon.

Template 4: Color the sun and stages of a total solar eclipse, arrange the stages in order, glue, cut out the template and fold.

For all three resources, there are folding guides for students, as well as both US and UK paper sizes.
