Description
Students are always antsy before the Thanksgiving break. Get them up and moving around the room with this interactive Thanksgiving foods activity in Spanish!
Spanish 1 or 2 students do various tasks with this activity:
1) complete the chart by making the adjective agree with the Thanksgiving food (e.g., El pavo jugoso)
2) state which four foods they like to eat for Thanksgiving
3) interview 6 classmates and ask, "Que te gusta comer para el Dia de Accion de Gracias" and record their answers in a chart (in note format)
4) rewrite what 3 classmates like to eat for Thanksgiving in complete sentences (e.g., "A Melissa le gusta comer el pavo sabroso, el puré de patatas rico, las zanahorias anaranjadas, y el pastel de manzana agrio para el Día de Acción de Gracias.")
5) find two foods that they like in common with two classmates and write 4 sentences total about these similarities (e.g., "A Johnny le gusta comer las judías verdes para el Día de Acción de Gracias. A mí me gusta comer las judía verdes también.")
This is a great activity to introduce students to Thanksgiving food vocabulary, practice adjective agreement, and practice the verb "gustar" with me/te/le.
An answer key is provided for the adjective agreement chart.
