Spring Figurative Language Collaborative Posters
- Zip
Description
Get your students involved in decorating your ELA classroom with these spring figurative language collaborative posters! This resource includes the pages for nine different figurative language posters. Each figurative language poster is made up of four individual student pages that are then taped together. This fun group activity combines collaboration, creativity, and content!
Each student page includes a small illustration and part of the poster title. Small instructions on the paper tell students what type of figurative language they’ve been assigned. Students will come up with an example of figurative language related to spring and write that on the poster. They will then decorate the page by coloring in the illustration and adding to the scene.
The types of figurative language included are:
- Allusion
- Hyperbole
- Idiom
- Imagery
- Metaphor
- Onomatopoeia
- Oxymoron
- Personification
- Simile
This is a great way to introduce or review figurative language. The finished posters are perfect to display around your classroom. This is an ideal activity for the day before or after spring break!
