Description

Spring Counseling Activities - These SEL centers are perfect for spring counseling lessons in 1st-3rd grade. Students will practice linking emotions to experiences, share more about their personal experiences, practice working together with a partner, and identify things that help them feel calm. Use these centers together for a spring classroom counseling lesson or separately for small group counseling activities or individual counseling activities!

What's included:

  • Educator Instructions
  • 6 spring-themed SEL centers: roll & draw (bunny or butterfly version), plant yourself with calming items/activities exploration, all about me bird house color by code, directed drawing feelings snail, mindful coloring, partner brick block building activity, DIY calm word search
  • all materials included in color and black/white

Additional materials needed:

  • Coloring utensils
  • Pencils
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Brick blocks such as LEGO (R) brand
  • Calming items typically found in a calm down kit/corner (such as stress balls, fidgets, etc.)

Q: Do I need extra materials?

A: You'll need the items listed above.

Q: How long will this take?

A: Students can rotate through all 6 centers over the course of 2 40-minute counseling lessons if using them in a whole group lesson. Each center takes about 10-15 minutes to complete.

Q: Can I use this in small groups or with an individual student?

A: Absolutely!

Q: I'm not a counselor. Can I use these in the classroom?

A: Sure! Add one spring SEL center to your normal center rotations or use them as early finisher activities for more SEL opportunities!
