What educators are saying

this is so easy to use as a google form! and i'm always trying to incorporate more word problems. great resource!

Description

Students solve systems of equations word problems on 10 digital task cards in this activity. All systems can be solved with elimination (one or both equations may need multiplication first). One additional bonus digital task card asks students to find the solution to a system of three equations in 3 variables.

There are 2 options to access this activity. The first is through Google Slides where students type directly onto each slide then share the end product with you. The second option is with a Google Form.

The Google Form is editable if you would like to change anything about the activity. When it's the way you like it, you send the form to students to complete. Directions for how to do this are included along with an optional paper answer sheet and an answer key.

Analyze and solve pairs of simultaneous linear equations.
Solve real-world and mathematical problems leading to two linear equations in two variables. For example, given coordinates for two pairs of points, determine whether the line through the first pair of points intersects the line through the second pair.
Solve systems of linear equations exactly and approximately (e.g., with graphs), focusing on pairs of linear equations in two variables.
