This elementary school counseling classroom guidance lesson give students a chance to explore strategies for preparing for a big test (standardized test or other) the night before the test, the morning of the test, and during the test! Discuss positive self talk, thought-stopping, brain breaks and more! Practice progressive muscle relaxation and deep breathing exercises to help students release worries.


Includes lesson plan (objectives, outline/script, materials list, ASCA standards alignment, suggested process, perception, and outcome data), pre-test/post-test, ready-to-show PowerPoint presentation, progressive muscle relaxation script, deep breathing script, student craft handouts, and objectives assessment checklist. Additional materials needed: bubbles (optional but fun!) and paperclips.
