What educators are saying

This standard is always a difficult one, but this product makes it easier and more enjoyable for students.

Description

This mini-unit helps students understand the events leading up to the first Thanksgiving and gives them tools to make connections between those events. Through a variety of read aloud books, students describe the reasons why the pilgrims celebrated Thanksgiving.

To explain why the pilgrims celebrated the first Thanksgiving, students will:

• Create a class timeline

• Ask an answer questions (RI.1)

• Sequence events

• Make connections between events (RI.3)

Included in the unit is also a post assessment to evaluate your students' ability make connections between a series of events.
