    Make Three Wishes - Students will make three wishes and consider the consequences of each wish.

    Rewrite the Ending - Have students take the story down a different path by tweaking the story.

    Research Superstitions - Take the superstition theme a step further and have students research specific superstitions. What does it mean? Where did it originate? 

    Compare & Contrast - Watch a film adaptation of “The Monkey’s Paw” and compare it to the short story. Add another layer by watching a third version and comparing all three!

    Thank You Letter - Sneak in some theme work by asking students to write the short story a thank you letter - thanking it for teaching them a specific lesson.
