Video Resource - 1491 The Untold Story of the Americas Before Columbus

This downloadable, printable bundle contains sixteen 1-page movie resource handouts (with answer keys) to go along with season 1 (8 episodes) of the TV series "1491 The Untold Story of the Americas Before Columbus".

Episodes can be viewed via Aarrow Productions Inc videos on Vimeo, or on the APTN lumi viewing platform.

This series is produced by two Indigenous-owned Canadian companies and uses interviews with experts (archaeologists, cultural leaders, scholars, many of whom are Indigenous) and live-action story-telling to illustrate the history of North, South, and Central America. This printable resource can be used in the classroom, and the files can also be utilized as an online distance learning resource where students watch the program and respond from home.

Each episode is 44 minutes which I have divided into two hour-long "lessons".

Each of the 16 handouts (one for each half-episode) in this download contain: side 1 comprehension/viewing questions, side 2 elaboration questions / project ideas / discussion prompts (which rounds the half-episode lesson out to a full hour, as well as gives ideas for research and cross-curricular projects).
