Description

Virtual Field Trips, when done right, can make for a great day in history or language classrooms. They are engaging, self-directed, no prep, keep the classroom quiet, and include high-interest topics to pique students' imaginations.

This virtual field trip to Japan gives students a glimpse into Japanese history and culture, from Lucky Cat to Deer Park, from Anime to Horseback Archery, From Ramen to Manga.

This Google Slides Virtual Field Trip to Japan has been a big it in my own history classroom the last few years, so I decided to share it here!

This digital resource lets kids explore and learn about Japan, from ancient Japan to feudal Japan to the modern day!

The Japan Field Trip uses Google Slides (you will receive a PDF download which contains the link to the resource). It requires no-prep, is very self-directed, and easy to navigate.

The best part of this Discover Japanese Culture Digital Field Trip is that it goes beyond what is in the standards. It's a great supplemental (or extra credit) assignment so kids can learn about some of the more interesting aspects of Japanese culture.

The Virtual Field Trip to Japan can be used as an introduction to your Japan unit (I assign it to be worked on independently when students finish the last unit's test. It keeps them quiet, engaged, and occupied), as a sub plan, an extra credit assignment...really, the possibilities are endless!
