What educators are saying

Great resource! My students loved connecting the things they loved with the type of learner they are.

Description

Inspired by Dr. Howard Gardner’s theory of Multiple Intelligence, I use the following file to help my students identify their strongest “smart”. I use the included survey to help students narrow their strengths down. I like my students to see how they are smart in more than one way and that being smart is not just based on their grades.
I use the data I collect from this activity to plan my lessons. I try to make sure to meet the needs of my students based on their preferred learning styles. It helps to build a classroom community where students feel their needs are met with respect and understanding.

Included in this file:
-2 page survey for students to take to determine their strongest “smart”.
-8 posters explaining the different types of smart: People, Word, Nature, Art, Self, Body, Logic, and Music
-Stars to use to display students names under, above, or along each poster
-Bulletin Board Letters spelling, “What kind of Smart are you?”
-Suggested Set up for Bulletin Board.
