How to use these interactive sight word books:
- Print double-sided. Each heart word book only uses one sheet of paper!
- Introduce the word. Students will say the word.
- Map the word.
- If it is a heart word, mark the heart part.
- Write the word 4 times.
- Rainbow write the sounds.
- Search and find the word.
- Read the sentence pyramids.
- Illustrate the sentence.
How to use these heart word books in the classroom: You can use these books to introduce new high frequency words or practice previously learned words. You will say the word and help students map the sounds. Then, students can practice writing and reading the word in context multiple ways.
Only uses one sheet of paper! These high frequency word books use the same amount of paper as sight word worksheets, but pack in more practice.
How to print double-sided:
- From your computer: When you print, select "print on both sides" and set it to flip on the short edge.
- From a large copier: If you must print single-sided first and then copy, you may need to flip the second page upside down. I suggest running a test copy first to make sure that it copies correctly.
