Inflectional endings worksheets and sorts to help students practice reading and using verbs with ing, ed, and s suffixes. The skills included are appropriate for first grade and second grade students.

Sheets:

  • Read the sentence and circle the ending the verb needs.
  • Cut out the verbs and paste them into the correct sentence.
  • Cut out the verbs and paste them under the correct verb ending.
  • Use each given verb in a sentence
  • Read the sentence and circle the correct form of the word that belongs in the sentence.
  • Read the sentences and find the words with inflectional endings: sort them
  • Use the word bank to fill in the words
  • Sort the words based on their base word
  • Fill in the missing -s, -ed, and -ing words on the chart.
  • Fill in the missing -s, -ed, and -ing words on the chart. Challenge: some of these words need to double the consonant
