TEACHING EXPERIENCE

( AB Co Op/Aloe There) I started my teaching career at the age of 5 - in front of my stuffed animals and anyone who would listen. After getting my degree in elementary education, I have been in a third grade classroom. I love the excitement, content, and eagerness of this age group. I received my National Boards certification in 2019.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in the gradual release of responsibility. Students work best with direct instruction, followed by guided practice, and then work towards independence. Each step is followed with student reflection and self assessment. Self reflection allows students to be held accountable in their learning and guides the teacher to know how to best meet the needs of their students.

I graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in International Studies.
