TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught 8th grade language arts for 12 years before becoming a full-time mom. I currently teach cyber school English 9 and 10 part time.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe students need to grapple with a text in order to understand and appreciate it fully; therefore, my lessons tend to be more analytical in nature. However, I also recognize that analysis can be difficult for middle school students, especially those who are more creative or practical. Consequently, I develop curriculum which eases students into analysis through modeling, partnering, and framing, while differentiating for more creative and practical learners.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Awarded grad school fellowship and "Top of Program" distinction. Graduated undergrad summa cum laude.
