I have taught both American History, AP World History and Art I. Each course has been taught in Texas.
My teaching style is to constantly be creating activities for students. I do not lecture because I don't feel students learn best by listening to an adult speak at the front of class. I very much prefer to have discussions that are student-led, and I am constantly trying to find ways to get students to talk about the material. I focus on methods that involve memory retention.
