TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 11 years. I began my career in a self-contained classroom for students with moderate to intense special needs. Throughout my career, I have assisted with the growth of programming offered by our district and experienced shifts from educational practices to be all inclusive and truly meet the needs of all students. I taught a Socialization, Communication, and School Fundamentals classroom for 7 years and now work with Middle School students. I have been a part of implementing programming at this level that allows students access to Extended Curriculum Standards in the classroom setting and truly challenges students at all levels. In addition, I teach Writing Labs for students identified as struggling writers and needed additional intervention. I believe all students can achieve success and develop my lessons with this in mind.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I follow a very structured teaching format with a great deal of repetition and incorporating all learning styles. We move, we dance, we sing, we learn.
