I have been fortunate to work in many amazing schools in Arizona and New Mexico, USA as well as overseas in the international schools setting - first in Amman, Jordan at INterbnational Academy Amman and also in Bangkok, Thailand at Kensington International Kindergarten. I have taught grades K, 1, 2 & 4 and 5, as well as a variety of specialist positions including Reading Recovery and Title 1 Reading Intervention.
I'm what those back in the day would call a Whole Language teacher. I believe in Balanced Literacy, formative and authentic assessment, hands-on manipluatives and student-centered learning. I build strong classroom communities where students respond to the needs of one another and support each other throughout our busy days. I believe in engaging parents and families in every aspect of my classrooms.
