TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I was a teacher for forty-one (41) years. In college, I got into teaching by accident and never looked back. "If you love what you do for a living, you never have a day of work!" I have taught most grades with community college and adult education added to the mix. The lessons I share are from many of those experiences. One of my favorite subjects was teaching English to foreign-speaking people. I felt I was not only doing a service to others but also a service to my country.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is Firm, Fair, and Consistent.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Nominated: Teacher of the Year: local and state and Mentor Teacher-high school

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

University of Colorado-Boulder: B.A., University of California-San Diego: Graduate Work in Bi-Lingual Ed. Professional Courses: University of Virginia, Colorado College

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Currently, I am putting together a "Cornucopia' of writings. There will be stories from my teaching days and the stories of my year living in Australia and experiencing the Australian education system. My Australian born and bred husband(now a U.S. citizen) and I traveled 25,000 miles in the "Land of Oz." Perhaps a book will be born from these writings??
