I have a BA in English Literature and Letters from the University of Oklahoma. It was at OU that I began my career in teaching. I started by teaching ESL for the University's foreign students. While at OU I received a 100-hour TEFL certification and moved to Indonesia where I spent two years teaching ESL at a private language institute. For my last year in Jakarta I taught lower primary at a Montessori school. Now I am in Brooklyn, New York teaching High School Special Education.
My style is interactive and discussion oriented. I believe in using all the senses possible when learning something new. Since my background is in ESL, I use a lot of speaking activities and vocabulary acquisition games. I think these are transferable to most subjects.
