This is my 13th year in education where I have taught preschool, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. I have been an Instructional Coach for Literacy and Social Studies the last five years. I also have experience with Science of Teaching Reading, teacher leadership, educational technology, Title I, ESL, sheltered instruction, dyslexia, special education and gifted & talented. I have certifications in general education (PK-6), ESL and sheltered instruction. I'm currently studying for the 4-8 ELAR and 4-8 Social Studies tests as I have recently considered making the move to junior high. :]
While my certificate is EC-6, I have found that I'm really most comfortable in the upper grades. I love using my own version of the workshop approach to keep my students actively engaged in multiple activities throughout our time together! I work within the Teacher's Golden Rule - "Treat your students how you would want your own child to be treated."
