Brett is the Founder and Executive Director of a new educational media nonprofit called Meridian Stories. This innovative digital storytelling initiative is the culmination of his 25 years experience as TV and radio program developer, producer and educator. Brett has spent most of his professional life at Sesame Workshop, serving as Executive Producer on media projects about early childhood education, ESL, global citizenry, math, science and conflict-resolution for youth around the world, including projects in China, Macedonia, Indonesia, Poland, Mexico, Cyprus and Ecuador. Brett teaches an annual intensive course on ‘Developing Media for Social Change’ at Colby College in Maine.
All of the offerings in the Meridian Stories series are three to four week media productions that involve these five value-added centers of learning: 1. Collaboration and Competition 2. Transmediation 3. Digital Literacy 4. Immersive (or Project-based) Learning 5. Narrative Learning
