I have been teaching elementary school since 2012. I taught in Maryland for 3 years and moved to teach in Florida in 2015. I have experience teaching 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade. I then graduated from WGU with my masters degree in Educational Leadership and worked as an Instructional Dean and then an Assistant Principal. Currently, I am back in NY (where I was born) and am a Chairperson (Teacher/Administrator) for 6th Grade at a MS.
While my style has evolved over the last decade, my experience in administration has shaped my current teaching style. Three key areas to focus on for student success include student engagement (through engaging content and relationship building), modeling a growth mindset, and student accountability. My resources are meant to provide premade activities that maintain student interest and/or encourage students to challenge their minds through critical thinking and/or allow them to receive immediate feedback.
