I hold a masters degree in math (MA) and taught HS math for 39 years before I retired (basic and consumer math, Algebra 1,2, Geometry, Pre-Calc, Finite Math, AP Calculus AB). I missed teaching so I came back for 6 more years (45 years total), then retired again. I still miss it, so I am writing about math. I have had 4 articles accepted by NCTM for publication in their magazine 'the Mathematics Teacher".
I like to use patterns and to build on past knowledge to guide students to discover and understand new mathematical concepts.
