I am an elementary school counselor at a K-5 building in Tacoma, WA. This is my fifth year as a counselor. I'm loving this career and the community of counselors that are out there supporting one another.
I enjoy teaching classroom guidance lessons, small groups and individual sessions. I try to incorporate as much fun, play and movement into my lessons as possible. I find that kids respond better to my 'deeper' topics when I am having them up and moving, or playing a game.

My K-12 experience was at a small town public school, and then I was lucky enough to experience three different 'types' of college. I did my first 2 years of college at a Junior College on a golf scholarship. It was an interesting balance getting my AA while being a student athlete and traveling every week. I then transferred to Washington State University (Go Cougs!) to get my BA in Psychology. I immediately enrolled in Graduate School at City University of Seattle to receive my Masters of Education in Guidance and Counseling.
I love to read, shop, golf, drink coffee, shop, learn about kids, did I mention shop? :)
