I've taught grades Pre K through 3rd grade and have served as a Literacy Coach and an Instructional Coach. Some of my time was also spent as the director of my church's school aged children's program. Right now I teach ESL in an online setting and I am currently serving in the toughest teaching position of my life as a homeschool mama!
In the classroom, I always tried ensure active engagement in every single aspect of my lessons and also tried to use creativity and choice to help motivate my students. I implement these same features in my homeschool lessons but with even more freedom and flexibility to meet the needs of my own children!
My kids say I'm the best teacher ever and that's enough for me!
I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from Methodist University and then earned M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix.
When I was in third grade, I announced to my teacher that I was going to be a teacher just like her. I have never wavered from that declaration and even though I'm not a teacher in a traditional setting right now, I know that teaching and learning will always be a part of my days.
