ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

The goal I have for my classes is to give my students the opportunity to be engaged in American Sign Language as a foreign language and the Deaf community as a culture. My ASL program will engage students who are interested in learning how to sign and will support them in acquiring and developing their ASL skills at different levels. I want my students to understand ASL as a legitimate language, and be able to communicate fully in ASL. My mission as an educator is to : Give my students the tools to become active learners, Challenge each of my students as individuals to be the best they can be, Be a role model of moral and ethical behavior, Respect each student as an individual, Create a classroom community where my students thrive.
