TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Professional Experience: I have taught science, math, technology and robotics collectively for 14 years. I have taught kids from a wide variety of backgrounds.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a stong believer in concept depth! I believe the wise teacher keeps all teaching styles in her toolbox. This way we can use the best fit strategy for a particular class on a particular topic at any given time. Flexability is a must!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My students who run up to me at Wal-Mart as if they were 13 again even when they are in college. My kids who came to me thinking they were not smart and left with confidence in their own abilities. My kids who volunteered to do an extra project because they were curious about a topic. The growth I see in my students is all the honor and reward I will ever need.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated summa cum laude with honors from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2004. My degree plan focus was science education. I LOVE teaching!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am the mother of one gifted child, one average child and one child living with the challenge of Autism. This gives me a greater appreciation for diversity and flexibility in teaching and learning.
