Description

Students find domain and range of graphs, scatter plots, tables, coordinate pairs and mappings on each of 20 pennants in this collaborative activity that doubles as a fun way to display student work. The pennants vary in difficulty making it easy to differentiate.

Included are 20 pennants with graphs (7), scatter plots (3), tables (5), coordinate pairs (3) and mappings (2) and 1 title pennant. Also includes 2 optional student answer sheets and an answer key.

Each group of students can be given a set of pennants, scissors and either glue, tape or a stapler. Students can be in charge of cutting out the pennants. Groups can compete to see which group can complete the most pennants or your entire class can add pennants to one string as they complete each one. You may also choose to have your students color their pennants to add to your classroom dรฉcor.

Understand that a function is a rule that assigns to each input exactly one output. The graph of a function is the set of ordered pairs consisting of an input and the corresponding output.
Understand that a function from one set (called the domain) to another set (called the range) assigns to each element of the domain exactly one element of the range. If ๐˜ง is a function and ๐˜น is an element of its domain, then ๐˜ง(๐˜น) denotes the output of ๐˜ง corresponding to the input ๐˜น. The graph of ๐˜ง is the graph of the equation ๐˜บ = ๐˜ง(๐˜น).
