TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Over the years, I've worn many hats in the world of education. I've stepped into the dynamic classrooms of middle and high schools as a substitute teacher, tailoring my approach to the unique spirit of each group. With a soft spot for ESL learners, I've had the joy of being a language and humanities tutor, celebrating small victories as my students found their voice in a new language. Beyond the classroom, at Readlee, an education literacy company, I championed the creation of literacy tools as the Chief Product Officer, collaborating with passionate educators and tech wizards alike. My journey has been a blend of classroom moments, enlightening tutoring sessions, and innovative product design, all fueled by a heart that believes in the power of education.

MY TEACHING STYLE

In the classroom and beyond, my teaching philosophy revolves around the heartfelt belief that every individual can master any subject, no matter how challenging it may initially appear. The essence of impactful teaching lies in meeting each student where they are, acknowledging their unique starting points and pacing. My primary aim is to foster an environment where confidence blossoms. I truly believe that once a student is imbued with self-belief, they unlock a reservoir of potential within themselves. To me, confidence is the foundation, the first stepping stone towards the enlightening journey of mastery.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received a full scholarship to Harvard College where I took graduate-level courses exploring pedagogy and dedicated my senior thesis to creating immersive pedagogical experiences. These experiences shaped my academic perspective and deepened my commitment to education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

When I finished third grade, I still hadn’t learned to read. I was placed in special education classrooms, where I received specialized support to help me close my skills gap. Eight years later, I received a full scholarship to Harvard College. Educators are my heroes. My experiences on both sides of the classroom have led me to develop new resources and tools to help them increase the impact they have on students everywhere.
