I have taught American History, European History, Canadian History, Canadian Civics and Phys. ed. for 17 years at a supportive and academically progressive school in Canada. I am continually motivated to find new and exciting ways for kids to learn. I love my classroom!
"There is much more to a student than the person sitting in the desk in front of you." My dad, who taught for 34 years, told me this when I became a teacher. I try to remember this when I'm teaching. Positive relationships are an important component of helping students learn and develop as individuals. Furthermore, I enjoy designing curriculum that reflects differentiated learning styles and new technologies. I am always seeking to further develop the art of teaching through innovative curriculum.
Seeing students develop into caring people is reward enough!
I have a double major in History and Kinesiology and a minor in Political Science. In addition, I have a B.A. in Education.
When I'm not teaching or creating resources I'm either fishing or travelling!
