Daedalus Design Curriculums

We are a UK-based home educating family, providing interest-based workbooks aimed primarily at children aged around 8-14 years of age. This, of course, is only a guideline – they have successfully been used by children both younger and older than this. I have used my 15 years of home educating experience to try to create workbooks that combine a mixture of both structured and unstructured pages to appeal to a wide range of learning styles. You can pick and choose the pages that will appeal most to them or print the whole booklet off and let them work through it as they wish. Some of the pages have deliberately been left open-ended – for example, in our Time and Space series, we have pages which provide a short summary, or an introduction to an episode of Doctor Who, followed by half a page or so of writing lines. These can be used however your child wishes – for example, my boys (the inspiration behind Daedalus Designs) tend to use them to continue telling the story, although other children who have used the books have used the pages for handwriting practice or copywork. The choice really is yours. Answers haven’t been provided because for a lot of the content there is more than one correct answer, and I have tried to keep the workbooks as open-ended as possible within a structured framework.
