By Emily McMurrin at Monkey Steps Design I'm a Graphic Designer with an MA in Communication Design with Learning & Teaching. At the moment I am homeschooling my preschooler, and I have found a way to combine my experience in design and learning and teaching in order to create fun and creative early learning packets for distance learning.
As a creative person, I like to facilitate learning through a combination of activities. I prefer to create a balanced preschool experience by mixing worksheets and guided activities with things like painting, reading books and free play.

I'm an American Graphic Designer based in Epsom, United Kingdom. I grew up in Las Vegas and studied Graphic Design and English Literature in San Diego, California. After graduating in 2008, I moved to Taiwan to travel, tutor English and do freelance design and photography. I then moved to London, England where I completed my MA in Communication Design with Learning and Teaching at Kingston University. After working in corporate branding for a marketing agency in London for several years, I am now freelancing from home while raising my 4 year-old son and 1 year-old daughter.
