TEACHING EXPERIENCE

As a high school and college student, I interned and worked in a variety of special education settings. As a special education teacher, I have taught in multiple self-contained schools for students with autism and cognitive disabilities for the past 9 years. I have worked with a variety of age groups and functioning levels. I have seen and been through it all.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I always structure the classroom environment so my students are working as independently as possible and at their own level. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and I love finding new ways to fuse my ABA background with the demands and expectations of working in a classroom teacher.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was a child a divorce and my grandmother helped raised me. My grandmother was one of ten parents that began a school that is now one of the largest organizations for children and adults with disabilities on Long Island. If I could do justice for those who worked hard to get school and special education services to the masses, to me, that is an honor.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelors of Science in Special Education 1-6, Masters of Science Literacy Specialist B-6, and Advanced Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
