TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught middle grades language arts since for 21 years in a variety of settings, including gifted, collaborative special education, Title I, and International Baccalaureate.

MY TEACHING STYLE

As a kinesthetic learner myself, I prefer to use hands-on and collaborative learning activities, and I like to incorporate music, art, and drama in my lessons.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Over 40 students published locally and nationally, including writing competitions and my state's gifted education newsletter. Co-founded the English Vertical Team at my middle school in cooperation with the local high school. Developed a comprehensive 6-8 grade SAT Vocabulary word program, comprehensive Greek and Latin Roots program, and a summer reading program.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
