By Music Therapy Tunes and MORE Store I've worked as a Music Therapist with kids who have special needs for the past 26 years. Many of our children fall somewhere on the autistic spectrum or have a diagnoses of Autism. All of our children enjoy and benefit from our Music Therapy Program. I also have a degree in special education and have used this music for special education purposes with kids between the ages of 11/2 to 14 years old.
Go with the child into their interest and using things that are meaningful to them, pull them forward into learning the skills that need discovery and development. In other words, teach them in such a way that they don't even focus on the "task" of learning, because learning becomes FUN!

They have received very positive reviews from the Film Advisory Board, numerous speech therapists, the School Library Journal, Midwest Book Review and most recently the prestigious PAL award (Play Advances Language) from Sherri Artemenko, speech pathologist.
I have a BA in "Music in Music Therapy" and have state certification as a Special Educator, Music Educator and Creative Arts Therapist. I've taught several instruments and have written music since I was an elementary student.
Music Therapy became my passion and work as soon as switched from majoring in nursing (I set out to become the singing nurse) to discovering the existence of MT Music has always been a “bright light” and a haven in my life: a source of joy, expression, connection and healing. I chose music therapy as a profession because she has seen the power of music and wants to share that with others’ hearts and minds.
