I have been teaching elementary school in New York City for 26 years, primarily in the lower grades. I am currently teaching pre-k and feel like I have the best job in the world!
I view myself as a facilitator with a big focus on activities. If you walk into my classroom, you will most likely observe student-centered learning within group activities that I've designed to foster initiative toward learning-tasks. I've found that this type of teaching necessitates active-learning, student-to-student collaboration and problem solving.
In 2006, I was nominated for a Blackboard Award in New York City.
I have a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Austin College and a master's degree in special education from Adelphi University.
I am also a mother of 2 wonderful children and a wife to a very supportive husband.
