TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for a year in the special education pre-k classroom, and I have also taught remedial English in the mainstream classroom to grades 7-8, creative writing enrichment courses, and English for grades 7, 8, and 9 in the alternative learning environment. I am now teaching 8th grade co-taught and regular English and yearbook. During my internship, I taught pre-AP 9th graders, honors 10th grade, and senior English.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am rigorous and tend to choose performance-based assessments. I use thematic units and utilize "I do; We do; You do" methods to have students become self-directed learners in increasing increments.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I graduated Cum Laude. I have been awarded multiple grants to enhance my curriculum. Google Certified and Apple Certified with Swift Playgrounds recognition.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Henderson State University with a bachelors in English Language Arts and a license to teach secondary education 7-12. During my higher ed experience, I focused on multicultural literature and creative writing.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
