I've taught middle and elementary school for eleven years. I love to teach and to create activities that engage students in high-level rigorous thinking. I currently teach enrichment and Gifted and Talented classes. I believe a well- prepared classroom prepares students not only to learn content, but to develop as individuals and hone the skills necessary to be resilient, responsible world changers.
I teaching by encouraging kids to read, write, and create! I believe that because creation is the highest level of rigor, students should have the opportunity to daily engage in many real-world, authentic experiences.
I am a National Board Certified Teacher, and am certified from elementary school through high school Language Arts.
I earned a bachelors degree in English at Furman University and a masters in elementary education from Clemson.
In addition to teaching, I enjoy writing, reading, and running. I love spending time with my husband and two year old. Most of my time outside of school is spent reading my little girl stories and cooking pretend food with her in her tiny kitchen.
