I have been a Home Educator for 11 years. I have taught at several homeschool co-ops, started & lead science (Apologia based) and writing clubs (Institute for Excellence in Writing based), taught Sunday school to elementary children, junior high school students, and adults. Our family has been part of Classical Conversations for 3 years, I have been the Challenge A Tutor for 1 year and anticipate moving on to Tutor Challenge B starting fall 2016.
ECLECTIC, classical, color-coded. I am very much a visual learner myself, so I tend to make my learning tools very colorful and highly visual. Thanks to HP Instant Ink I can afford to print them! One of my own children is dyslexic so I make a lot of materials geared toward presenting and recording or manipulating information in ways that better fit her creative learning style.
My honors are not formal and my pay next to nothing but homeschooling and spending every day with my kids is such a priviledged lifestyle! "Thanks, Mom, for dinner!" are words I hear most every day from my family.
Once upon a time I earned my B. A. in Design & Human Environment, I have studied with Bible Study Fellowship for 11+ years training and serving there as both a Discussion Leader and Children's Leader. MOST of my life education has come from being a Mom and Home Educator. I have attended a gazillion education workshops at conferences, practicums, as well as online and audio sources. I LOVE the Lord, I love to learn, and I love to teach & tell others!
