As a high school history teacher, I am deeply passionate about sharing the rich tapestry of history with my students. It brings me joy to witness their growth and success as they navigate their academic journey and beyond. Building meaningful connections with my students is at the core of my teaching philosophy, and I take great pride in fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. With over a decade of experience in teaching history, I have had the privilege of working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds. From those who struggle with reading to high-achieving students bound for college, I am committed to meeting each student where they are and guiding them toward their full potential. I am particularly proud of establishing the first Advanced Placement (AP) World History and AP Government courses at my school. Through these rigorous programs, I have endeavored to raise standards and expectations, challenging my students to think critically, engage deeply with course material, and excel academically.
I firmly believe in the power of experiential learning. I strive to create dynamic learning experiences by incorporating hands-on projects, interactive activities, and engaging visuals into my instruction. By embedding reading assignments seamlessly into our lessons, I aim to deepen students' understanding while fostering a love for reading. My teaching approach is infused with humor, thought-provoking questions, and stimulating activities to keep students actively engaged and eager to participate. I am dedicated to cultivating an environment where students are encouraged to think critically and work collaboratively. Furthermore, I am committed to empowering my students to take ownership of their learning journey. As a guide, I facilitate their exploration, encourage curiosity, and provide support as they navigate new concepts and ideas. By fostering a sense of agency and independence, I aim to inspire lifelong learners who are confident and self-motivated.

Outside of the classroom, designing educational materials, and grading assignments, you'll often find me with my family. Whether we're nurturing our garden, whipping up a delicious meal in the kitchen, or engaging in a lively board game session, we cherish these moments together. In my downtime, I seek solace and creative expression in my art room, where I let my imagination run wild. When restlessness strikes, I'm likely to embark on a scenic 20-mile bike ride or start planning an exhilarating adventure. I believe in embracing every opportunity to explore, learn, and grow.
