I have taught grades 2-5 in public, charter, and private schools. I worked as a STEM specials teacher and an elementary science coach. In recent years, I worked as a professional curriculum developer for science. I'm currently back in the classroom!
I believe in learning by doing. I build a student-centered classroom. I'm a big fan of true open-ended STEM challenges, projects, student choice, hands-on activities, and games. Learning should be fun!

I have a diverse (and ever growing) education background including: education, fashion, marketing, humanities, instructional design, math education, STEM. I'm a lifelong learner. Recently I took courses on brain based learning, e-learning design, UX, project based learning, and blended learning. As someone who always disliked school, I'm an unlikely teacher. In my 20s as I was figuring out what to do with my life, I started working in the office of a preschool that focused on Multiple Intelligences. As a lover of art and music, I thought if I were taught this way, it would have made a huge difference in my engagement.
As a Florida teacher, I know it is difficult to find curriculum that actually covers our standards. What is out there either goes way over what our kids need to know, or it is missing key components specific to our standards. My goal is to created science activities that hit exactly what our kids need to know in a fun and engaging way.
