I started in 1990 as a classroom teacher and have been in a variety of grade levels over the years from elementary through adult education. I proceeded to a Reading Coach in Elementary and High School AND worked at the District Level for ten years. While working in the public school system, I started a family business assisting administrators, teachers, parents, and students with any educational need from individual tutoring for students, to home workshops for teachers, school wide trainings, and administrative support such as walk throughs and assistance with accreditation.

My teaching style is to be very explicit from the start (Never Assume Anything) and I involve the students in instruction immediately. Some lessons follow a specific process and routine to help the students learn then release the scaffolding and apply the skills to a new situation. I like for my lessons to be hands-on and interactive. So many lessons I teach can be adapted to a variety of grade levels, it's all in about how the teacher approaches it instructionally.

I have over twenty years in coaching teachers and administrators with the English Language Arts content. While working at the District level as a Curriculum Support Specialist my responsibilities included writing District Pacing Guides, writing and presenting various ELA District trainings in person and through webinars, and making school visits to support teachers, coaches, and administrators with the ELA instruction within the school.
