Tales of Twin Teachers

Katie started her career as a high school English teacher (teaching English I, II, III, IV, and SAT Prep) in NC. As she moved into administration, she was a high school principal and eventually the Director of Technology for a K-12 charter school. She has experience teaching online classes on the high school level as well. Most recently, she serves as a reading interventionist and instructional coach for a K-5 school and has found her passion for teaching reading in elementary! Shannon has taught elementary grades and middle school. She has an extensive background in instructional technology and reading intervention. Shannon is an expert in elementary and middle teaching strategies and making learning come alive for students! She currently is a reading interventionist at a K-5 school and enjoys the challenge of finding new ways to engage students daily!

Our teaching style is anything that gets students talking, creating, thinking, and READING!

Both have been Teacher of the Year

Katie has a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Education Leadership and is a certified Government Government Chief Information Officer. Shannon has an Associates Degree in Early Education, Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and a Master's degree in Instructional Technology (K-12). Shannon is also certified in AIG and ELA (6-8).

Our paths recently crossed as elementary school reading interventionist and instructional coach. Over time, several of the students kept asking us, "Are y'all, sisters?". We would say yes to pique their curiosity. Then as word got around that we were "sisters," they would ask, "Are y'all twins?". Of course, we are! We became a team at school and wanted to reach as many teachers as possible, so the idea of Tale of Twin Teachers was born!
