This is my 5th year of teaching in the same school district and school. In my short 5 years, I have bounced around quite a bit! I started in 6th grade for two years. Although I really grew to LOVE 6th grade, a 2nd grade position opened up at my school, and I took the leap to be with the younger kiddos again! Then, the opportunity came for me to loop with my kiddos and teach 3rd grade. I jumped at this opportunity and loved being able to loop with my students. This year, I was offered a new position at our school teaching STEM and math. I now do rotation STEM classes to preschool through 2nd grade. I also teach a STEM class to 3rd - 6th grade, as a replacement to their science classes. I also teach a section of 6th and 7th grade math this year, as well as coach/co-teach 5th grade math. As you can imagine, my days have been quite busy! However, I am loving getting to work with so many different students!
I believe in putting students first and matching my teaching to best fit their needs. I do this by incorporating many different teaching and learning styles in my classroom. I also try very hard to bring in as many "real-world" learning opportunities as possible.
