TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hi there! We're two Canadian teachers who love developing classroom resources! We are both full time high school teachers in Ontario and have also previously taught overseas at Canadian international schools in China and Malaysia. At our previous school, Jason was the Department Head for Social Studies, while Brittany was the Department Head for English. Outside of the classroom, Jason has developed curriculum for the Critical Thinking Consortium and Brittany was a Curriculum Developer for her former international school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

As teachers, we try to inspire our students to become critical thinkers both inside and outside of the classroom. Using material that is relevant to their lives, we push students to question, inquire, create and debate within the classroom so that they may apply these skills to the ever-changing and challenging world around them. Group activities, student-centered and project-based learning, simulations, TEd talk debates, visuals and videos are some of our go-to teaching tools.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Superintendents Award for Excellence in Teaching at Maple Leaf International School

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Brittany holds an Honours Bachelor degree in English Literature and Global Studies with a minor in Geography. Jason holds a Bachelor's degree in Social and Political Thought, as well as a Master's degree History. Both Brittany and Jason hold a Bachelor's of Education from the University of Toronto.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Aside from teaching, we love to travel. Especially to places that don't make the typical bucket list! We learn the most while traveling and see so much potential in experiential learning.
